The DCS team has been working for well over a month now. So we thought it was time to give an update on what has been happening.

Since launching our funding pod we have received 20+ applications directly from Nounish builders.

We have been excited to see so many builders apply to work with us, we greatly appreciate everyone who reached out to us and the time they spent to apply. We would also like to take this time to clarify the goal of DCS for better understanding amongst the community.

DCS is a pod with a focus on funding builders in the 8-25E range in that sat between smaller funding opportunities (Prop House/NSFW) but larger 25E+ on-chain asks. We are not a grants program or have to work with all builders who apply to us - we have always aimed to only fund a small cohort of people. We have had builders come in our discord thinking we were meant to fund anyone looking to scale up in nouns. This is not the cause of our pod.

So - what projects at DCS have got us excited?

Prop-house voter Centralisation

At DCS we as many others in the DAO that prop-house will be integral in the future of nouns funding, the ability to crowdsource builders with selected and open mandates create unique virality. Today there is an issue with voting power centralisation in prop-house in which due to the lack of turnout, the Nouners who do utilize their votes have a level of power that is unchecked or unknown. For prop house to grow we felt a project that can highlight this issue and work to improve upon it is vital for the DAO.

In response to this we have funded a project ran by Nouns Builder Danizord. We have funded him with 25 ETH - expect a larger announcement today on the details!

Looking back and forward

Looking back during the first stage of DCS we were slightly protective of our capital as we reacted to sentiment within the DAO through month of December.

We sensed some frustration from builders on the fact we were highly selective but we are ultimately here to serve what we believe to be the best interests of the DAO.

Looking forward our next steps are to work on getting increased visibility to DCS to on-board more builders/ideas into our funnel to make more solid bets with our remaining capital
